Mom
My Valentine

Mom,
I
had 55 years with you. There were many years we did not like each
other, we didn't get along, but since I gave birth to Simon 22 years
ago we developed a great friendship.
We
still have had some troubles but it got a lot better. I don't know
why we had so many issue, but I like to think it's because we didn't
have God in our life. Oh you tried. You took us to church until I was
in third grade, yet it became to hard to do with an alcoholic husband
and six kids.
I
cannot tell you how grateful I am that I spent so much time with you
in the last nine months. I was very concerned that you didn't know
Jesus, but I think you had Him in your heart all along, you just had
turned away like I have many times in my life. It gets hard to
believe when life is difficult and people are even more difficult.
While
reading 7 Women And The Secret To Their Greatness to you, we both
grew closer as we learned about Mother Teresa, Rosa Parks and Corrie
Ten Boom. It was amazing to me to see you filled with the Awe of how
God had worked in their lives. The miracles were clear, and suffering
is not something any of us humans are without, that is until we are
given our new bodies that the Lord has promised us. Our eternal
bodies as you know have.
You
were so brave to endure your long suffering to the end and not cash
out by choice. I am so happy we grew close, and that you were able to
experience love, and be able to say I Love You, to me first. In all
of life it is only love that matters. The love we have from the
Father and the love we show each other.
